Does this smell like Karl Rove to you?

Classic. Just classic Karl.
They are eliminating whole groups who might vote against them.

Smells like following the freaking law. I dunno about your state but over here, cemeteries empty each election season and voters go to various precincts to vote where they are multiple registered. I wish somebody would purge our roles and/or make people prove they can legally vote.

But that's just me.

Right.

Let's just do it in states where there's a lot of minorities particularly hispanics. Maybe we can scare them all into not voting. Let's do it under the guise of "clearing out the dead voters". Yup, that will scare them. Why don't they do it in all states? Oh wait, don't bother, those other states aren't swing states.

Carry on Jeeves.

I don't know the details of this, and it looks legal, but it also smells like Rove. There is nothing wrong with enforcing the laws. The Rovian part is that their efforts are always aimed at enforcing laws that disproportionately affect groups likely to vote Democratic. So, they can certainly play this game, I just ask them spare me the moral indignation about how they are standing up for democracy.

Constitutional issues prevent regularization of the process -- states control the time and manner of the election.

I agree with you taht it's too clever by half to put resources into just swing states. But that's the nature of politics.

If you were in charge and had limited resources, would you put your money in impossible states, safe states, or swing states? That's the political calculus.

I'm tired of the racial issue. It happens every anybody tries to purge the roles. Maybe that makes me a racist, but I like only legal voters, voting.

I'd love it. That and a freaking paper ballot. Trust electrons? Hell no, I have computer experiences that don't instill confidence....

Uh, no. It smells like a very uninformed attempt by a writer at yahoo.com to mislead a specific group of kool-aid drinkers into thinking that voter rolls aren't purged all year long, not just when Obama needs a little "they are evil" boost.

In my state, which was not mentioned in the little blog thing, there were four challenges to roll purging in the past year: two brought by the Dem. party, one by the Republicans (backed) and one by a wealthy individual that I think just wanted his name in the paper.

If anything, I suspect the likes of Charlie Wrangle and Al Sharpton have kept the rolls pregnant in New York for so long......whereas we in the South come under much greater scrutiny for not following the rules since the Voter's Rights Act only applies to us

Well then you better stay home on election day, because "O" has already rented every spare nursing home van and school bus in town, and will be handing out cigarettes again on Nov. 4, just like he did the week before our voter registration deadline.

I don't know. I've only seen pictures, so I don't really know what he smells like . . . He does appear to bathe regularly, though.

I wouldn't want to get close enough to find out, but not because I think he is the boogey man.

Hey John Doe: A correction to your post

Except for the nursing home van that will take McCain to the voting booth.
