I think I'll just stay out of India all together.

Considering how some tourists behave, it doesn't surprise me at all. Goa is a snake pit of druggies and hippies as well as IDF retirees who just go there to do dope, sex and generally be rude and brash. I would stay away from Goa alltogether. In the same sense.....recently there has been a spate of murders of Indian students studying in US universities, guess they too should stay outta the US colleges as well.

So, are you saying that not ALL Indians kill rude tourists?

What do you think? Tourists as well as people have been killed in other parts of the world as well.

Easy, big fella. I'm only kidding . . .

I'm surprised we haven't heard of more Americans being killed for rudeness. We're a rather irritating lot.

Of course, sometimes AMERICANS kill Americans on American roads because some of us a just soooo annoying.

A couple of years ago a European (don't remember the specific country) diplomat was deported for shooting the rear window out of a car here on the GW Parkway one morning. Of course, he just may not have had his coffee yet.

I know you are kidding........I was just playing along. Certain places in India are definitely not safe for tourists of any kind, domestic or foreign. Goa has witnessed a huge growth from a sleepy sea resort to bustling drug haven and the elements that run the show there are as nefarious as the people who frequent that place.

Americans kill foreign tourists as well and there have been several notorious cases from the car jacking of the German couple in the 90s in Florida to other gruesome attacks in places like NY or Chicago.

The solution lies with the local govt. Just like if you came to my house and are a jerk, the solution lies with me. If I need you bad enough, I put up with it and STFU. If I don't, I show you the door. It's not my place to correct your behavior that I consider bad. It is my place to show you the appropriate exit depending on how badly I need your presence. If you are a hot girl, I will put up with a little more if I am trying to get in your pants. If you are an ugly girl or a guy and not contributing to my well being, a couple of mistakes and you are out the door. The equation is pretty simple.

Having being on both sides of the equation, I have seen rude locals and rude tourists. Take the French area of Canada for instance, I found them rather inhospitable. Couple of times I have been to that area, they act as though it is my privilege to go to their place and spend my money there. What do I do about it? Not spend any more money there. Pretty simple. I can get the cold shoulder for free, why should I pay for it. If a tourist is rude, it is a pretty simple deal when I was in that line for a while. I look past them and say "Please stand aside while I deal with the next customer. Next, please."

The govt is interested in the business. The restaurant is the one thats responsible, they hire low life character with quiestionalble criminal records to make them work long hours for peanuts, its a deadly cocktail for sure.

Seeing as how India is a democracy, the people via the govt has spoken. They have said "We need these clowns and their money badly enough we have to have them here and we are willing to put up with them. Also, we need the restaurants to operate the way they do so we get money from them. All things that will have to be endured because we need the money."

If that isn't so, the people need to put someone in office who feels the way they do. That these sort of people are NOT WELCOME. Ex-IDF people come there for drugs, sex, rock and roll? Simple. Clamp down on the visa section until there are none of those people coming in. Yes, it will hit the more well behaved ones but such is life.

If I ever visit the colorful subcontinent I will be certain to curry favour with those whom wealth and status lead society....

Seriously though,I've had several real estate transactions with East Indians, primarily Brahmins but I have a Sikh tenant as well.

The so-called Brahmins seem the most status-obsessed folks I've ever met while the Sikhs are more easy-going,adaptable and have a great joie de vivre along with a truly egalitarian outlook upon life.
Just my own faulty judgement based upon limited experience.
