Local Politics
Any interesting races, referendum or other ballot issues in your neck of the woods?
- Way out here, mass transit dominates the mayoral campaign for Honolulu. Incumbent is the proponent for light rail, while his challenger has just come up with a plan to add a second deck to highways for buses and carpool. - The other issues is whether the state should spend money to hold a "Constitutional Convention" to select future ballot issues which would change the state constitution.

Well here in AZ there's a big push to unify all the School districts. State wants one giant beaurocracy and they are pushing it like crazy. All the old fools who think they'll save a few buck's in taxes are going to vote for it. No wonder AZ ranks about 48th in education. I think it'll pass which means I'll likely be out of a job in a year or so so. Other than that nothing really major that I'm aware of.
