Hard to say with any certainty, but assuming a good older resto, correct interior, soup to nuts engine/chassis rebuild,smooth,non-dented or pitted chrome, everything from gauges to shocks working you're looking at between $15,000.00-@$30,000.00 U.S.dollars.

If it's a series 90 Roadmaster you can nearly double that, even for a sedan.

Remember, you can see all the nicest antiques in the world advertised at a certain price but this means nothing as certain models of a particular make are hot in the collector market for a year or more and then popular interest shifts to another.

I always say,as I learned from the old collectors.."it's only worth what someone is willing to pay,if you choose to accept that amount".

Brian,

You need to carry a walking stick and use it to hit this type of guy in the nuts. When I had a broken foot, I was very liberal with the use of my cane

Seriously, I believe that in any altercation you need to go to force 10 immediatery and put the other guy down fast. Less chance of you getting hurt that way.

OK, now on to cars...

My grandfather had a 1937 Buick just like that picture. It lasted them through WWII and was traded in on a 1947 Kaiser-Frazer!

Brian:

At the point where you turned and lost it ... next time try a verbal assault that leaves the pin-head in a daze...try this...

"Are you suffering from a terminal case of "Cranial Elevated Rectumus?""

Then turn and keep walking away...let him try to figure it out (As if he'd be THAT quick!)

Point is...you zinged, and you know he's not that smart and quick to understand what you meant and you leave with the real last word...unless he's a total 'roid and has to follow you in order to have you explain it...then it's a double-wammy for you...he's actually out of his car and on your terrain - and he's clueless!

Went out with the '87, made a right turn onto Main Street........accelerated to the limit.........30 mph.........and a POS van appears behind me wanting to do 80. Moves to the right shoulder..........thinking about passing on the shoulder..........brilliance takes hold of him..........and he returns to his spot at M/B minus four feet. This continues to the next light where I make a right turn and am done with him.

Well, that's my a'hole for the day..........the rest of the day will be a breeze...........right.........right???

Pull into the school parking lot which has a right of way near the building and parking spaces on the far side of the right of way.

Driving about 10 mph and a moron comes flying out from the parking area directly in front of me and needs to complete his 180 degree turn to head out of the lot (from where I was coming). I stop the M/B before plowing into his driver's door. No big deal........another a'hole.

He passes me and is screaming about me being "some kind of a'hole".

Leave it.

Park the '87.

Get out and walk to the building.

Surprise.........he's not leaving.........he's picking up his wife at the front doors.........

Leave it and plan to just walk past into the building.

"What are you some kind of a'hole"??

I turn and I lose it...........doesn't matter if I'm feeling like ****........have no strength........or the incisions hurt. I grab this POS by the shoulders and slam him into his car while his wife is screaming. A few seconds go by and another fellow breaks it up.

He just continues with his BS and I go into the school.

Moral of the story:

Cannot even go out to vote for 30 minutes without getting involved with two separate a'holes.

My incisions hurt............

People suck.
That really sucks.
Hope you feel better soon.

If you run out of happy pain pills and the Doc says no(doubtful though it may be)you know where to get some.

Funny, but whenever I'm in pain I become a tad confrontational as well.

So many a**holes,so little time,eh?

I've got plenty of Percs........but, I don't need 'em anymore. Pain is minimal. It's the lack of energy that's my main problem...........but, that's going to take time.

So true............

Man I hate that feeling, Brian. I think the major psychological problem is the disconnection between what one wants to do but cannot do because the old carcass just wont perform as it did. It's related to looking in the morning mirror and NOT seeing a 20-something looking back.

Getting old is a PITA and I hate it.

Best wishes and may entropy neglect you for a bit now and then.

Thanks Bot.

Yep, I've been struggling with that problem for a couple of years even before the surgery...........this just adds to it.

I'm desperately seeking entropy neglect...........I'm not doing all that well at this rate.........

I've no doubt some here will consider this ultimate 'woo-woo' but I worked for about a year at the Optimum Health Institute of San Diego back in '88. I'd been a guest there twice before.

As God is my witness, a week or two there is about as close as I think we'll come to a fountain of youth in this life. The fare there would be hard to take full time if not impossible to do on your own but the change in diet for a week or two is not that hard to pull off and well worth it.

They put you on a raw foods diet with a 3 day fast (well, raw veggie juice and wheat grass juice) the first week. Wheat grass juice is the butt of many jokes and it tastes awful but I swear you can feel an energy zing from it. Supposedly it enhances oxygen flow throughout the system. It's also (supposedly) quite close to blood in overall makeup. My study of nutrition indidcates that a common theme among some dieticians is that an overly repetitive diet, year round, can lead to various sorts of congestion. Two weeks here has a serious cleansing effect on one.

They have a branch in Austin now also -- these places are especially attractive to northern folks in wintertime.

I saw people come in there pasty faced and listless and after 2 or 3 weeks, they'd be about 10 pounds lighter with rosy cheeks and a bounce to their step. What's more, it's not that expensive -- $600 to $1000 a week depending on accomodations.
