Cool You can buy new trucks for $13k!

Wow GM and Ford are really hurting. All the local dealers are running some crazy specials, $13,410 plus tax, title and $299 BS fee for an F150 or 1500 Silverado. Base truck, but you can get the fully loaded crew cab with the V8 and 4wd for just under $23k!

How can they make money selling these things for below cost, thats why there in trouble. Toyota isn't doing this.

The trucks are already built and have been sitting on the lot for months. Have to get something for them.

There's a popular Ford dealar here that offers $12K F150s, and has advertised that deal years before the bottom dropped out.

The least expensive Tundra Toyota will sell in my area of the world is $32k. Crew cab, V8, 4wd pretty loaded. The will not order any Tundra below that, when asked the dealer says go pound sand. Toyota has determined that CT doesn't get the base models.

Toyota is tough, even in this market they are a lot better off than GM and Ford.

Besides with full size trucks GM and Ford are just as good as Toyota.

I guess....

You buying a truck anytime soon?

I have been eyeing a new Ram 1500 with the Hemi an 4WD. The new models came out here, and they are trying to part with their old inventory... Cheap.

Well when I build a house on the lot I just bought last week and sell it, most likely early next year. I don't want a note so I'll wait.

I just want a base work truck, I'll have the MB for when I'm not working. Since I'll be doing a ton of around town driving mileage is important.

I don't like Dodge's, my friends 2001 1500 which needed a new trans and engine before 90k miles turned me off of them big time!

Dang, my friends 1500 with the Hemi and 4WD has been near perfect. Had some problems with the locks, but it was due to the alarm he had put in.

New Fords are pretty good I hear. My neighbors got an F150 from like 02, and its been bullet proof.... It just eats front tires.

My dads 07 is pretty good, kind of cheap though. IMHO.

I figure I'll test drive and get out the door prices on both the Chevy and Ford, whichever looks the best I'll buy.

Get the one you want, not the cheapest one. Didn't you say you wanted the Silverado (Check the GMC Sierra base one too, only some trim differences)

If you can find one under $10,000 plus T and L get it. Probably they are some left over 2008 ones you could get dirt cheap on their lots because they sat around a long time.

I think Detorit has put some effort into making their pickups good ( they looked nice at the auto show I just saw in Sacramento) and actually, they have sold enough of them to make it worth it to put some R & D into them to make them better.
