Anyone have any shim stock?
 

I'm shamelessly begging for a handout of a teentsy piece of .015 steel shim stock. All I need is a 1"x2" piece and everywhere I look it's selling by the pack for $15 or $20. I'm pretty sure this is the only time in my life I'll ever need it so it seems kind of a waste to buy the whole lot.

So, anyone want to help out a fellow American who's down on his luck... :D

(I'll actually pay for the piece, I'm just kidding about the begging part...:))

I have some 6" dia HVAC duct that is made from .012" steel. You might take your micrometer down to HD and measure some pieces. The larger sizes might be a little thicker.

I could give you a 6" x 3" piece of stainless .0015:rolleyes:
Seems to me finding something .015 in your local hardware store would be pretty easy, unless you need stainless steel. The thickest SS shim stock I've ever purchased was .005.
