How does that "turret finder" revolver cylinder on the Zorki work?

It sure is amazing when you compare the "contact" image with how much "junk" gets added to images in the darkroom when you have to run the image through the optics of the enlarger.

You spin the turret to match the focal length of the lens. You use the turret to frame your shot, then use the range finder on the camera body to focus. it is a two step process.

I use manual focus, manual metering cameras of 35mm and medium format when I want to slow down and compose.
If all I want is a snapshot as a record, the digital is great.

I don't use it, but my mom's got a Brownie (twin reflex like the OP) from the 50's and my dad's got a large format from the 30's, with the glass plates.
My current camera is a 1983 Pentax Super Program inherited from my dad.

Gee, now I'm getting nostalgic for the smell of raw film stock and rolling it onto stainless steel film holders and tanks, the steady sweep of the GraLab timer's second hand (that buzzer sure is loud) and all those brown jugs of D-76, Dektol, Fixer . . .

And the taste of sulfer in your mouth like a match head from hours of breathing fixer fumes . . . Good times . . . good times . . . .

A darkroom would be something to look forward to. Right now it's processing and prints for about $2.50 a shot from start to finish using Tmax 100 or Fujicolor 400. I am still getting used to the controls and the inverse image planes which are perplexing yet unique. Like other German engineering pieces it's a finely crafted machine.
