It's With Great Sadness.....

That I remove the 560SL from my sig. The insurance company declared it totaled yesterday and we settled. RIP friend. :(

The details are in this thread.

Matt L 12-06-2008 06:21 PM

It is indeed sad. It was a nice car. I can't bear to read the details again.

Chad300tdt 12-06-2008 06:32 PM

Sorry Kevin. So ... are you going to buy the Lambo to replace it or are you looking at something else?:D

powerpig 12-06-2008 06:40 PM

I enjoy sleeping in a house, so the Lambo is out. I'm looking at a deal now and will post details soon.

iwrock 12-06-2008 06:47 PM

Thats sad PP.

It looked great too.

LUVMBDiesels 12-06-2008 07:29 PM

And you have no sympathy for your avatar that I just grilled and ate. Man your heartless. :D

Actros617 12-06-2008 08:53 PM

sorry for your lost, you should take both money claim and your 560SL, that way you have a part car for your next 560SL, i would have gone Awall on that dude if he totaled my 300SD.

Hatterasguy 12-06-2008 09:59 PM

That sucks, but something like this will ease the pain!:D

MTUpower 12-06-2008 10:08 PM

I sold PP the 560SL and it was not easy to do. It was the "Toy car" to my kids as it was so much smaller than the wagons the kids thought it was a toy. I have three boys and even the wife was okay with me owning a SL- God Bless Her and driving it in NY all by my lonesome. ;) There is just something about a nice 107, and I'm glad I had a chance to be a part of this one's life.http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...l/newsl001.jpg

Unveiling GTG!!!

Dee8go 12-08-2008 09:40 AM

Good idea, Tony. Not the we need much of an excuse for a GTG.

Mistress 12-08-2008 10:13 AM

I do believe the "Minion" needs to conveine(sp) for alittle GTG and proper toasting to send the SL to the Rainbow Bridge.....

Bummer, sorry to hear that pp. The longer it stayed on the market the more I tried to rationalize driving down to get it.

Dee8go 12-08-2008 11:20 AM

Damn, Swamp. There are plenty more nice Benzes at PP's house. Comon down!

My dad and I had a conversation about them this past weekend. He found a black one he really likes, and is in his pirce range.

Fulcrum525 12-08-2008 08:52 PM

Haha try guessing a bit more realistically.

They certianly have an intoxicating exhuast note. Let me guess similer V8 to the 360?

I think I'm in love! For the price of an E class they offer so much more; the Italians sure know how to make a car with passion! You won't get that sound out of a German car; above 6k is where the fun is.:D

After that siren song I want, sedans are not supposed to sound that good!:D

Very nice car and a good choice.

I looked into one last summer. Fun car to drive, but I'm spoiled by the torque of my S600. Not to mention spending $75k on a used car.:eek:

powerpig 12-09-2008 04:46 PM

This is the one I'm working a deal on.

Sweeet car! I had one follow me for a while on a trip to Toronto this past summer, silver as well. I was cruising along pretty quickly and he jumped in behind me. Shadowed me for a while, then blew past. He was cruising a bit too fast for me after that (in terms of likelihood of getting a ticket). Gorgeous car.

Johnhef 12-10-2008 08:54 PM

hmm, after seeing that, I think I like the 4 door one better. maybe its just the plain color of it, I dunno.

Nice car - Maseratis, Jags, and Aston Martins just have a gentleman's style about them.

Wonder if the blue dash is cracked?
