I understand why stars make claims like this, its because people will listen.

the problem is why people listen... they are entertainers. thats their profession. the should get publicity when it comes to there profession. if she had taken up the cause to get public schools more musical instruments, then EXCELLENT. publish that.

what I don't understand is why stars like Rosie O'Donald gets to express her opinion on why Building 7 collapsed on 9/11; but my dad, an Engineer doesn't get air time to explain it.

You would think the people who give out air time would be more wise. but they are not. its just the world we live in.

she should get charged with slander. if you have the balls to post in publicly, you have to have the balls to stand behind your words.

I believe my attorney friends say "if its true, its not slander".

We will see if she has any facts or is just popping off.

I don't know what the truth is.

The man is a private citizen, not a public figure, and she has made a direct, unambiguous allegation that defames his character in his community.

As I understand it, if a reasonable person would conclude that her utterances are without proof, then she is guilty of slander, regardless of his subsequent guilt or innocence should it go to trial.

I heard it said (probably by an attorney, but I know I'm probably wrong...

) that if you preface any comment with the words "It's my opinion..." or "I believe..." and you finish the preface off with whatever is dribbling from your brain...you're "scott-free" from any court action anyone wants to lay on you...
