Nice tree Tom. I've always liked classy look of all white lights.

I think I see more lights sitting there. Were you considering more or are those the ones that don't work this year?

That is one of my "light balls," made up of hundreds on working and non-working lights, hopelessly tangled up. They are utterly useless and yet they are saved from one year to the next . . .

Ha! I just tossed my collection this year after I don't know how many years of resisting.

I finally went to LED light strings (except for my bubble lights) and I am amazed at how intense the colors are. (80% less energy use too)

Drumroll please....................................................

Crappy phone pic, but you get the gist of the ornament explosion. The treetop angel was my 2yo's playgroup project (last year's angel project by son#2 has been relegated to mere ornament status). As you can see, some areas have already been picked bare and there's been some rearrangement. It's kind of exciting, the decoration is somewhat nebulous. I like the garland and tinsel look but that's a losing battle at this point. Poo chains with the pets is funny, not so much with the little ones, nevermind the leverage a 2yo can gain with a string of garland.

I was always a traditional white lights and candles guy...until I had kids. Then we went to colored lights and now we have those chaser/rhythm lights on the tree. I've gone to the dark side outside as well with the colored lights, but I haven't gotten them up yet. Don't want to rush into anything.

It wouldn't be simple if I came home with that tree

Praise Allah, the wife has convinced herself that since we are always out of town for 3 weeks during Christmas that we aren't doing a "big tree(s)" this year, so I got off with a 4 ft. tall pink one the girls decorated with ornaments they made themselves. And I thought I was onto something by buying a pre-lit one off the venue of a Deb ball last year by bribing one of the waiters $50 when it was clean-up time

I like your tree Swamp. Thanks for the cat/tinsel memories ... good times.

When I was a teen, I had a great day at the beach with my German Shepherd after he ate about 2 sq. ft. of a sheepskin throw my dad had in the living room the day prior.

I saw things that day, I had no idea were possible and Wolf and I were the stars of the beach. (it was a stretch of beach where dogs were allowed BTW)

Oh, that ain't right!

Here's a vid of a house in town that my kids love to go park in front of. Gaudy, gauche, tacky, over-the-top, all of the above. But it's got all kinds of crazy ideas going through my head. And everytime I hear Wizards in Winter I visualize the house. Move over Clark Griswold...

That's cool Swamp. That's what Clark would have if he could keep from knocking out the neighborhoods power grid.

Ha! I called it "yarn" ... he turned raw wool into delightful "ropes". I wasn't the only one amazed by this on the beach that day either.
