Sailfish

My people are in town so we are fishing. 3 for four today on a quadruple, 2 for 5 yesterday, and 2 for 3 the day before. All peaches and cream? Like a duck it's all calm on the top side... and the wife say patience, patience, patience my man, and I listen and abide.

That's great! My first cousin lives on Williams Island and has had pretty consistent luck this year, albeit on a more modest ride. I hope to get down there some time early in the New Year and drag a spread. Concentrating on ducks and trophy rockfish for the moment Tight lines.

I thought that was dauphin, but often mistakenly called dolphin.

EDIT: Maybe I'm just getting confused by all the fishin' humor.

He's yanking your chain. We get dorado here without effort dragging bucktails on the way out so that newbies can take photo ops before they get sick and say they went fishing

OK ... I just did a bit of surfing and discovered that I was a mistaken fool. The only thing I can even find linked to a Dauphin fish is fishing near Dauphin Island. I guess the fish and seafood section at ACME calls it "dauphin" to keep from being overwhelmed with attacks from irate customers that know as much as I do about fish.

You aren't that far off base--there is excellent mahi fishing out of Dauphin Island/Mobile/Orange Beach during the spring and summer

Really? I love salt water fish. Sword, Tuna, Monk, Flounder, Blue, Mahi Mahi and Salmon. I prefer shellfish though.

Quit messing with the kid (or stand ready to argue about Salmon) Monkfish is pretty close to shellfish in texture, imo, but I can rarely acquire it fresh
