That is really well done. Obviously, video editing is not just a casual interest for you...

"Unhealthy fixation" is probably a more accurate assessment. Thanks for watching, glad you liked it!

Nice! Did I miss something, or is "technology" misspelled? What software are you using to edit with?

Thanks! It's a chronology of technology, hence "Techronology." I do all my editing in Premiere.

How do you like Premier? I've used the "light" version and it's OK. We're thinking about getting the CS3 or Vegas for our new edit system at work.

I have no complaints. I'm using CS3, but I'll probably move to CS4 very soon. I haven't used Vegas for a full project, so I can't make much of an assessment.

Frankly, Final Cut Pro is the industry standard. The biggest reason that I use Premiere may be that I'm not a fan of Apple. However, there is something to be said for its seamless integration with After Effects. I do all of my color correction, grading, and visual effects in AE, so the portability of my Premiere projects is a huge plus. Less time spent and less headaches than going from FCP to AE.

If you're using Windows-based workstations, Premiere is probably your best bet.

I've used Premiere and it's very good. When I was a professional editor, Avid was the standard. I threw this one together with some freeware and Blufftitler for a presentation a couple of weeks back. Audio mix toward the end is a little to hot and the middle effects need more work, but I did it during the plane trip to the conference.

I believe the primary advantage of a setup like Avid is the fact that it's a realtime environment. That said, you can reproduce nearly all of the same effects with consumer products (e.g. AE, Premiere, FCP, Shake, Combustion, Vegas, Digital Fusion, etc.). Realtime is great, but also prohibitively expensive.

What sort of editing did you do when it was your primary job?

I did a little of everything except news. Commercials, Info Videos, Music Videos, etc.
