Wow.....time to convert a W126 to electric!! That'd be sweeet. Electricity is part of the rent where I live, so I'd be fueling on the landlord's pocket.

OMG, finally ... A MAN! An Ameri-can!

That should make it clear, how obsolete and fossiled the rest of the motorized world is.

I could live just fine without a few thousand explosions per minute under my hood.

It's a matter of conscience, not necessarly environmentally, but surely in the sense of what is possible. There are people who knew that all along.

Just a heads up:

We rover Mars, but are condemned to ride on fossil extractions!?

If I had a grandmother, I am sure, even she would know better than that.

You guys out in CA have rolling black outs now! If everyone tried to plug in an electric car the system would fry!

You guys on the left coast need to start shooting some hippies and NIMBY's and start to build power plants. You want electric cars? Fine your going to have to live with a coal power plant or nuclear reactor in your back yard.

It would be perfect for LA freeways. We could quadruple the number of lanes and throw out the carpool lane, since none of the vehicles occupied with single persons is eligible to use it anyways, unless they can afford risking $300 fines ...

Haven't had a rolling black out in ... can't remember. They are rather minor, but on the flipside, it describes how those plants are in need of refurbishment as well.

The Hippie issue can be easily disregarded, they are a truly minor issue, overblown by those who just can't take peeps thinking aversively.

I rather have a few sophisticated powerplants in my backyard than a dirty war culture (supposedly over resources) in my front yard.

But that's exactly where the dog bites his tail again.

Remarkably, the category of characters always fits the pattern, no matter how you turn it.

Besides that, I don't understand energy issues/solutions not in a monotheistic way

I remember seeing something about that a while back on my local PBS station, I can't remember if it was the same story...

The speed of the steed is directionally proportional to the torque of the porque.

There's a reason why locomotives are diesel--ELECTRIC.

Starting torque is certainly a factor in diesel electric locomotives but another reason is that building a torque converter capable of managing 4000+ hp is expensive and they tend to be somewhat problematic when subjected to North American railroad service. Nevertheless, it was done in the '60s by, you guessed it, the Germans.

At the time, Krause-Maffei ML4000s diesel-hydraulics were the highest horsepower, single prime mover locomotives being built. Lower HP diesel hydraulic units are still used all over Europe.
