I have a Leatherman Wave. One day I was in Milwaukee and shut down the car and walked away. Suddenly there was a steam cloud. Seemed the hose to the heater core broke and coolant was all over. I went to the parts store and got one of the same size but it needed to be cut. Out came the Wave and the clamps were removed, hose cut to length and installed. Filled it with coolant and life went on.

Skippy~ As for perception: Drive what you like and can afford. Those who don't like it can supply vacuum to one of your components. LOL

If you need parts, I have some!

It had gone through security 5 times and not been questioned. Probably because when folded up it appears to be a solid block of metal. We made it through the 6th checkpoint and home with no issues. Don't know how it did...I have three Leatherman tools that I've bought at gun shows in our area...the vendors have a pile of "HSA-Airport Confiscated" items (usually cheap pocket-knives and related materials) and for some reason or another I find these babies...the last two were a Marlboro Store item and the one before that (the Fuse) came from Cabela's.

All three cost only $2.00 each! And they work beautifully! I feel naked not having mine with me...and you wouldn't believe how often I've had the opportunity to use these things...best $6.00 I've ever spent!!!

Consider yourself EXTREMELY LUCKY...I wouldn't take mine on a trip that involves any airplane...but in case you feel lucky, just engrave your name on yours, and on your next trip, if you get it confiscated, just PM me and I'll check the tables the next time the GSs are in town up here...if I find yours, I'll mail it back for just $2.00 (plus S&H!) and you'll be whole again!!!

Honestly, leave it at home and be happy you still have it!!!
