Look at these totals-

Franken, with 1,212,431 votes, and Coleman, with 1,212,206 votes.

225 votes seperate them with 2.9 million votes cast on that day. Truly staggering. I believe Barkely had somewhere around 20% of the votes.

Without a run off, my guess is as good as yours.....

That is 100% true, but most independant voters are left leaning on issues and of all the people I talked to that voted for Barkely they were deciding between Franken and Barkely and definitely were not voting for Coleman.

I agree, he has a major advantage once he gains the spotlight to himself. Humor is a powerful political tool. Lincoln rose to power on it. Reagan devastated his debate opponents with it. Our most humorless presidents, Carter and Nixon, are also our most unpopular, with the exception of Bush, our greatest clown.

But W didn't mean to be funny.

Good reflexes though for an old fart!

At least it's a new career path for SNL alumni, considering that the only one now is making less than memorable movies or dying in some spectacular way like drug overdoses or being murdered by your spouse.

On behalf of Louisiana, I would like to extend my most sincere gratitude to the voters and officials of Florida, Illinois, and Minnesota.

THANK YOU!
