Good Home Audio Forum?
Anybody know one?
I'm not an audiophile or a collector of vintage equipment - just want to keep up with current day technology and figure out what to buy - maybe a step or 3 above Walmart and pre-packaged systems, but not high end. Back in the day, I was willing to spend more than I am now. BTW, I was just sorting through old manuals and receipts (I keep the receipt attached to the manual), and noticed that equipment seemed to be a lot more expensive in the day. My Nakamichi tapedeck was $300 in '78, Onkyo turntable $250 etc. Even my Walkman was $100. With inflation, that would be what - 2-3x now?

The Nakamichi likely increased in value big time I have a Dragon collecting mouse crap in my barn and I'm seeing ePray solds well north of $1000  I'm wondering why in the heel why anyone would want a cassette deck.

Just bought a single CD player - refurb Marantz - and looking forward to getting it hooked up. Good reviews on the forums for a budget audiophile item. Like I said, I'm lazy and CDs are easy.
I didn't need a changer, since when I finish one CD, I'm usually not in the same mood as when I started it, so I don't need to pre-program my listening. Or I'm asleep.

Anybody here have Martin Logan speakers?
I was listening to some recently in a home theater setup at a store here. They had a 70" LCD TV screen and Martin Logan surround sound speakers and they were playing a DVD of a John Mayer concert. It blew me away it was so good.
