Well let's look at this a little differently.
My house is part of an HOA, although the covenants against my house are minor, the main purpose is to manage a small lake (5 acre pond) that is available for our private use.

But for a number of years I was the Treasurer, big deal 110 home, dues were 60 bucks a year then, about 85 now. I had to write 60 or so checks a year

And the BS I had to put up with from homeowners was crap lets repeat that CRAP CRAP CRAP.

Keep in mind I was NOT paid for my time or efforts.

If you sold or refi'd you needed a letter from the association stating your dues were paid. This was mentioned on page one of every years letter, including the 10 day turnaround. Guess how many times I would have someone show up at my door at 6 pm they need the letter for closing tomorrow. AH I need 2 signatures, I need the check to clear AND I am on my way out to work. The names I was called.

Or the time I posted a payment to the wrong house, resulting in us sending a reminder letter to the wrong household. This AAAAA HOLE called every board member and my wife and ranted for 30 minutes (I was out of town at the time). EACH and everyone said no problem provide us a copy of the canceled check and we will resolve it, he told them where to go and ranted for another 30 minutes.

So I called him, and he ranted, threated me woth his "Jewish" lawyer, and ranted more.

I told him first he is NOT to bother my wife again PERIOD, then repeated that if he could provide me a copy of the check I would resolve the matter.

He refused, told me it was my problem and continued to scream and yell.

Finally I told him Here's the deal, I am a volunteer you are not happy with the job I do, it's yours come over and pick up the stuff I'll have it ready in 10 minutes.

The names he called me, and no F'n way he'd do it.

I finally said bring the check over in 3 days or I file a lien, this conversation is on tape (Interestingly it was) Thankyou, and I hung up.

He did show up with the canceled check the next day, he started up again.
I said one more word, I am calling 911 PERIOD.

It was my error and I apologized, and I again offered him the position.


This is probably the worst of the things I had to deal with, but there were many minor ones.
