So now that we can see the infractions, what the hell do they mean, anyways?

What does 1/1 (1) correspond to?

This all feels a little high school to me, truth be told.

Would you prefer the lack of transparency?

I don't envy your job, Brian. Having said that, when Howitzer asks how many warnings equal an infraction and the reply is

then I'm not sure that transparency is all that important when all we are shedding light on is a system with such a strong subjective element. I know you were kidding with that post, I saw the . But at the same time there's always truth in a joke.

The high school reference was more about the constant complaining to the teacher that seems to be going on in PM.

I read the announcement and don't have a problem however ya'll want to enforce the rules, but will point out that on my profile, there is only one active warning which expires on Feb. 8, and I show two in the three numbers on the right.

Just giving feedback.

Now that I have my yellow card, I just feel so deliciously...criminal. I just want to rob a bank now, or maybe run over to Benzworld and use the f-word.

Man it's hard to find a post with a yellow card, but I did end up seeing one. Thanks again Tyler.

I try to add a bit of humor so I don't go crazy in this job. Remember that it eats moderators for lunch and I'm trying to avoid that.

In all honesty, there is no relationship between warnings and infractions. If the violation is modest and the intention of the member is not vicious, I usually issue a warning. If I have to issue three or four warnings, I'll usually advise "next time it's an infraction". It's all very subjective.

With regard to an infraction..........it's a blatant violation of the TOU. If you tell somebody to _____ off.........you'll get an infraction for it. If you purposely insult another member, you'll get an infraction for it. If you post a thread that is designed to agitate other members without the desire for an honest discussion, you'll get an infraction for it. There will be no warnings.

There isn't that much complaining going on via PM. I don't tolerate it.

You have a second warning that was posted on May 15, 2008 that never expires. I did not issue it.

For true transparency, we should be able to click on the tally and be taken to the offending post/s so we can easily see what type of post is not tolerated.
