The bailouts are not about rewarding or punishing irresponsible individuals or corporations. They're about saving the country from complete collapse. And that number on the linked website is not very meaningful as it's a committed amount as opposed to an actually spent amount, assuming it's even correct to begin with.

But surely the logistics to supply a 3-week war aren't as complex as those for a mega war like WW2 that lasted years. But otherwise I agree with what you said. Sometimes I wonder what life would have been like as a citizen of one of Hitler's puppet countries as opposed to one of the Soviet satellite countries.

How many men?
How do you get them there?
How many days of food will they need?
How many days of ammunition will they need?
How much medical support will they need?
What are the projected battle casualty rates?
How many aircraft? What kind of aircraft? What kind of aircraft fuel? Aircraft maintenance scheduling? Battle damage repair? Aircraft loss projections?
How many ships needed to haul equipment that cannot be flown in? How much fuel to resupply those ships? Where will you refuel? How much naval support will the shipping require? How many naval aircraft will be needed? Fuel for aircraft task forces? Food for the sailors & embarked Marines? How many Marines?
etc.

Now, how are you going to stage it? All at once? Piecemeal? What items have highest priority?

I'm just guessing here. But Ill bet if you and I really wanted to get an estimate within a billion bucks +/- we could do it in a couple of days & using the Internet. If we wnat an estimate within a half-billion we'd probably need professionals.
