Rick Santelli RANT

If you haven't seen or heard it you must be living under a rock. Do a Yahoo! search and view it. ( I push Yahoo! as I am a (minor) stockholder in Yahoo!, and one does what one can.)

Anyway, What do you all think? Did he nail it, as they say? Or is he totally off-base, and wrong?

He must have lost the NBC standing memo that you can't say anything bad about Obama or his policies. If it hadn't got so much play, he would already be toast.

By yesterday morning, CNBC was trying to distance itself from Santelli's remarks. Santelli called the recipients of the planned mortgage relief "losers", and that had the PC squad on high alert.

Meanwhile Keith Olbermann, the big sissy, named Rick Santelli among the "World's Worst". Santelli must be on the right track.

For the record Olbermann, Santelli has been opposed to ALL of the bailouts.

Sometimes the best endorsement comes from your opponents. If Olbermann hates him, he must be pretty good.

I thought Olberman was an OK guy for sports...now that he's stained himself in the political area, I don't care for his sports comments anymore or what he even thinks concerning whatever his handlers send him out after...

His tirades come off as childish and in the vein of name-calling...

Also, that other chick on MSNBC...Rachel Maddow...when you hear the "lilt" in her voice when she's getting almost orgasmic when trying to do a story about something amiss in the "Republican Orbit" - it's almost like watching a high-school local-access program on the "Barker-Channel" tier of your local cable outlet...

Olberman and Maddow...not too long for the tube...they'll be doing something else in about 4 years...

Hopefully, something along the lines of "Air America" - nothing...

Olbermann is the other side's O'Reilly. I guess the staining depends on which side you are on.

And thats OK for commentators. Their job is to elicit responses. What I object to is when there same "standards" are applied to straight news reporting. I heard the same "orgasmic" delight from many of the supposed "journalists", during the recent campaign.

But, as we all know, even commentators need to keep up their ratings...or they get shelved and are replaced by some bombastic blonde with even bigger bombastics, and an IQ of a pet rock...

If I want to listen to a little girl squeal, then I'll find one of my nieces and take her to "boy-band" concert (Do they even have those things anymore????) but I'll turn off the Television or Radio when the supposed news is on and I hear that "fingernails-on-a-blackboard" falsetto from the "yakking heads" of the media...even if it should come from the right or middle. As it stands, I see and hear it mostly from the left....

Yet, what I get a "real kick out of" is the fact that it's the Olberman/Maddow camp's side that wants/demands that the "Fairness Doctrine" needs to be brought back and enforced against the "Evil Empire" of the Repos...

I think they can sense their own demise and are hoping the Government can "bail them out" too...before it's too late for them...

They saw their little buddy, Al "Air America" Franken, lose his shirt and turn into a politician and I suppose they've decided that they don't want to go down that path as their next career choice...

All the better for us...

The more empty houses you have in your neighborhood the less your house will be worth.

For the sake of argument, we will grant that this is true.
Does it follow that the BEST way to fix the situation is to pay the mortgages of the defaulters? I heard that the re-default rate on those that were previously helped is over 90%.
Maybe the best way, is to do nothing. The value of the unoccupied houses will fall, but only to a point where some people think they are bargains. At that point the house is sold, a new mortgage is written and a new homeowner moves in to the formerly vacant house. The cost to me, is ZERO, unless I sold my house at the bottom of the market because I was fearful.
The current plan cost me, and you, and our children, and our children's children Trillions of dollars. Do you understand what a trillion is?
Which plan is better?

If protecting the value of your home is your concern, you should set your sights higher than non-empty

MIAMI -- Max Rameau delivers his sales pitch like a pro. "All tile floor!" he says during a recent showing. "And the living room, wow! It has great blinds."
But in nearly every other respect, he is unlike any real estate agent you've ever met. He is unshaven, drives a beat-up car and wears grungy cut-off sweat pants. He also breaks into the homes he shows. And his clients don't have a dime for a down payment.
Rameau is an activist who has been executing a bailout plan of his own around Miami's empty streets: He is helping homeless people illegally move into foreclosed homes.
"We're matching homeless people with people-less homes," he said with a grin.

On Feb. 19, ACORN members will launch a new tactic in fighting foreclosures: civil disobedience. Participants in the ACORN Home Savers campaign nationwide will simply refuse to move out of foreclosed homes, or in some cases, will move back in. ACORN homesteaders intend to squat in their homes until a comprehensive, federal solution for people facing foreclosure is put in place.

Just look at your 401k

And it is in there, you'll see!

good at least we wont be paying the section 8 housing cost for them in an apartment until they get kicked out, and they will be a decent custodian to keep the copper and fixture thieves at bay

Rick Santelli says the same as Ive been thinking, but he certainly would not be my f=irst chioce as a champion for the common middle class man
