Repo

Anybody seen that TV show on the cable called "Repo" or something like that? It's a "reality" show where a camera crew rides around with this nutty crew of repo men, reposing cars. What a wacky crew that is. I don't think there's any reality to it, but it's funny for a little while.

I watched it last night for the first time and at first thought it was for real but after awhile it became apparnt that this thing is "staged." I'm disappointed. I'll stick to the History channel.

They should just call it a sitcom and leave it at that.

I haven't seen that but there is a show, "Repo Man Stealing for a Living", that is a real-life show that I've watched and find quite entertaining. The guy who played Big Pussy on Sopranos is the host. They're all nuts but some of them are the repo equivalent to Dog the Bounty Hunter.

That's what I thought about this show. It's like Dog The Bounty Hunter for repoing cars. The people on it are just way too silly to be real, though. It's entertaining for about 15 minutes.

A clue to the non-reality of the reality is when the repoees are surprised when the F-250 shows up but are somehow pre-miked for sound...

I had a clue that all was not real when I realized that Daryl Hannah was playing the older woman in the show.

My BIL did it for a while in Indianapolis. 35 years ago or so. He can tell some stories. He's not very big but he is fearless.

He had guns pointed at him more than once.

Back then you traveled in pairs, you could just climb under the car and jump the starter after fiddling with the wires inside the car. I don't imagine is quite so easy today with all the computers and such.

Back when I was doing it (for all of three days until I had a very big, very chrome handgun pointed my way), we just hooked em up to the tow truck and pulled them away.

On one of the runs, the big fat repo lifer, who never ever took a shower, pulled the door off of a garage to get the car. Problem is, he took the whole damn garage down. Made no money on that one.
