Star Registry

Has anyone ever heard of the Star Registry on the radio? You know, the one that tries to sell you to have a star under your name?

Registry

Toby,

So happy to hear economic conditions in the UP are of such excellent status.

Most of the rest us in the "Lower 48" are enveloped in the Fantasy of a near
depression.

"Hey, any way to make a buck!"

Got one for each kid, one for my wife and one in memory of my father.

You get a nice book with the registration and a star chart.

Someday there might be colonies on planets orbiting "Lisa's Star"

For $10,000, I will name a planet after you - a planet in our own solar system!

You will receive a certificate (suitable for framing) along with a page of fun facts about "your" planet. My immediate family and I will from that moment onward refer to that planet by your name!

Act now - quantities are limited, and when they're gone, they're gone!

I get the kids a what the F**k gift each Christmas. I got them stars one year, Roman coins another year, and yes, they both have an acre of moon land! Came with a deed registered at the UN and everything

Mars land, huh? Maybe for this Christmas...

Another gift is taking one of those letters to Santa and fulfilling some poor kid's wishes...

I envy the shyster that set up this scam. Sell something that you don't own, and that has no meaning and of which there is an effectively unlimited supply. Quite brilliant.

Give each of your "loved ones" the money and let them have at it...that way, you gave them something, they got something they wanted and couldn't have without your "input" and they can name it whatever they want...you have a picture in your mind of the looks on their faces when you handed them the cash and in the end, isn't that what it's really all about?

You and them, and no "middle man" to spoil the view?

1/2 Acre in Hell

As a Divorce Gift I got my Ex A Half Acre in Hell - 9th Level - Lot 007.
I wrapped the final decree in it and delivered it to her by a process server.
told her that I hoped she and her Mother would find the view to their liking as they already know the landlord on a first name basis!
