1990 300CE smog problem
my nieghbor has a 1990 300CE with a smog problem, its has been tagged as a gross polluter and he has to get it fixed. the car only has 90K miles on it so it still has a lot of life left.
the catalytic converter has been replaced many times. his mechanic said it could be a bad ALDA or something to that point, it wasn't really made clear. any help would be much appreciated. sorry i couldn't give more information.

You might get a better response in the TECH HELP thread.
Or try a search there. But I don't understand why the cat's have been replaced many times. My 88 is still sportin the original cats with 109K on the clock. New Jersey isn't CA, but we have probably above average emission requirements. I never have any problems. If you neighbor is blowing thru Cats, he's got some other problems. Good luck to your friend. |
