What's to do in Dayton,OH

Well I finally made it to WPAFB but only for this week. What's happening in they Dayton-Fairborn area this week? What places should I go to after hours and what should be avoided at all costs...

I love TDY!

Isn't there an air museum there? If it is, it's a definite must see.

if you're into the bar/music scene, then Friday and Saturday nights are to be spent in the Oregon District, 5th street downtown.

For updated listings for things to do, go HERE

Try also Canal Street Tavern in downtown Dayton, close to Fifth Third Field.

I love the area, but there isn't much work there anymore. Spend lots of money to help them out!! LOL

how long are you going to be in town? If I still lived there, I'd pick you up and show you the sights...

I will only be here until Friday this time out. The USAF museum is my Friday between work and the flight activity. I will have to do some exploring tomorrow-Thursday.
Any neighborhoods to keep my beautiful shiny white rental crap I mean car away from?

If I come back for the 90 day stint I was originally supposed to do, I will have more questions about the area and it's wonders...

A couple of buddies and I are headed to Dayton Friday morning to spent time at the museum. I have heard a lot about the place and plan on spending Friday afternoon and part of Saturday there. We might want to check out the nightlife also as jplinville recommended. Too bad out paths won't cross.

It's a shame you don't have more time for the museum. It's really a full day's outing to take it all in and that's moving at a pretty steady pace, not doing much reading on the displays.

It's organized into sections: Early flight, WWII, Modern flight, Cold war, etc... You might want to pick your particular area of interest and spend most of the time there. If you want to see the x-planes and the presidential display, you have to get a ticket. (which may be a long shot at 3PM) To get to the ticket kiosk, enter the museum, walk all the way past the gift shops and hang a left. You should see the desk about 50' ahead, generally attended by a retired lady and gentleman. I think they make runs to the other site every hour, on the hour.

On your next visit, call and schedule a tour at the Packard museum.

I'd stay away from the west end of Dayton, too many bad areas there...and too many places to lose the car too!

While there, try Joe's Pizza on Airway, near the AF Museum, and make sure to order a Delux from Cassano's!! These are 2 of Dayton's finest Pizza's!!

You know, "Dayton" and "Fresh Atlantic Seafood" just don't seem to go hand in hand...

St. E, KMH, or MVH? Only three biggies there.
