A bit of trivia

John Lennon's wife wanted a 1979 300td to replace their 1972 Chrysler Wagon was ready to replace.

What makes this purchase so special, and how much did it cost them on purchase?

Ok, it's been nearly 5 hours and no takers??

Lennon and his wife wanted the 300TD, but they weren't in North America yet. They special ordered it, had it equipped with the needed emission controls, and paid nearly $30,000 for it in 1979. it is the first 300TD to set tire on North American soil.

After John's death, the car was sold at auction for $20,900, then again to a collector for $36,000, and lastly in 1999 for $60,000 and is currently on seasonal display at the Guild of Automotive Restorers in Bradford Canada.

Other than past ownership, it's a rather bland car...

I saw a clip on the History Channel about it...pretty cool, I thought

I thought you were going to end it with something like: "And now it's used to haul cattle feed at the Berryhill Farm". He would not have made it into the cheap wagon club here
