How's it feel having big brother car computer watching over your headlight usage?

The '00 S-10 I'm driving (294K) had the mainfold issue. Needed a new gasket and resealing around the 238K point...
I had them flush and fill the coolant system at that time and replace the orange w/the green...then about 2 oil changes later, new shop-monkey topped off the overflow tank w/orange chit without checking...I had the shop re-flush and refill the WHOLE SYSTEM with new green, at THEIR COST. They admitted they screwed up and didn't even blink when I questioned them about it. If you have the orange in there now, dump it and flush it out, GOOD, before it does become an issue and make sure you have a tag or something written down near the radiator cap and overflow can that it is GREEN OR NOTHING. Also, check the tranny coolant lines going to and from the radiator...Chevy's crimping technique on their coolant line connectors leave quite a bit to be desired. If you have someone in the high-pressure hose business that can crimp on a connector like no one else (including Chevy), have them do your lines for you. Your driveway and HOA will appreciate and thank you for it.

It's that DexCool crap...even the dealership agreed about switching over/back to the green.
There's been articles on the orange/DexCool stuff getting too oxygenated and corroding the passages on the engines and related gear. If you're getting the orange replaced every year or two, it's not too much of an issue, but keeping the stuff over 4 or more years and just topping it off is when the problems start rearing their ugly heads...and most of the issues trace themselves back to the DexCool and its lack of replacement...the green stuff is more durable and is easier on the coolant passages. Therefore, the switch... Why didn't I switch sooner? The orange has been changed and flushed...two deer and two separate hose leaks over the years of driving this thing (I started with less than 80 on the odometer back in Dec. '99).
