It's like dancing on a high wire.........lean a bit too much to the right and members depart because they consider the moderation overbearing..........lean a bit to the left and the dialog degrades to the point where the forum gets out of control and members depart due to the vitriol.

Ditto that (not a salesmen, just thick skinned). It is my opinion that some of these folks are looking for ways to get others hot under the collar. Or simply to garner attention. Or likely both: former an attempt to activate the latter. 1603 did however seem DIRECT and unnecessary. But overall, I fail to see the reason to suck thumbs, but rather a need to be gentlemen of decent conduct. What the heck does it take to be sensible adults?

My conclusion - you overreacted, and a warning for that comment is wholly inconsistent with what has been allowed here in the past.

You mention that moderation is not an easy task...quite true, and I wouldn't criticize had I not walked a mile in your shoes. My personal opinion - knowing where to draw the line, is nowhere near as important as doing it in the same place consistently.

As such, if you consider Bot's comment trolling, that ***** disturber JR should have been banned weeks ago. Virtually every post that pr!ck makes, is a troll - antagnostic, and personally targeted at one or more people here.

I don't think there's bias in the moderation. Given the fact that the board in general is skewed to the right, if there is a bias, I think it would be in that direction.
