Stargate SG1...

I'd like to thank Fulcrum for letting me barrow his 8 season+ movie collection of the series. I just finised the first disc today. I havn't seen this series in well over a year, and its probably been 5+ years since I have seen the early episodes, I forgot how much I enjoyed it.

I'm going to have to buy season 9 and 10 when I finish his. 214 episode SGI marithon!

excellent series. I liked Atlantis as well, and am really looking forward to SG universe...

Yeah Atlantis was very good.

I'm off to watch two more episodes.

This series is going to take a long time to watch though. Its not like an anime series where the eps are essentialy 20 minutes if you skip the opening and ending. So I can't bang out 3 in a hour. 214 almost 1 hour episodes is going to take quite awhile to watch...I'm going to have to pace myself at one or two a day.

Not a problem. Obviously the copy thing just wasn't going to fly.....

Lets make sure we get this into perspective for everyone. In normal syndication they are hour long episodes but on DVD they are probably 40 minutes long. However with the usual DVD extras it would probably be balance back out to around an hour per episode. Also EVERY episode has a full length commentary so if he wanted to go through the entire series followed by the commentaries it would be 428 hours straight....equivalent to about 18 days straight of viewing.....he's going to need a lot of coffee or possibly some more extreme measures.....

After the secret of the Stargate's ninth chevron is discovered, a team of explorers from Earth travels to the unmanned starship Destiny, which was launched by the Ancients centuries ago as an experiment. The new crew, not able to control the Destiny's navigation, is forced to complete its original mission. They travel far out into the universe, encountering new races and enemies.

Looks like it starts on October 2 of this year.

I'm looking forward to Caprica. This will be the first Battlestar series to focus on the daily lives of normal citizens within the colonies.

I think it will actually be the first Sci-Fi series to really focus on civilians. Most others almost always deal with space or military expeditions. While thats really very good fun, it will be a nice change to see people getting on with their daily lives and how it reflects on our own world.

Best SG1 episode ever is when Jack O'neil and Tilque (sp?) get stuck in a time loop....that is hilarious!

I gave up, sadly don't have much time. Got about half way threw though.

You can have them back if you want.

Busy all of a sudden? Guess the housing market isn't doing too bad.

Nah don't worry finish the rest of them. I'm hoping that next winter I'll be able to sit down and re-watch the series but I have other things to worry about in the mean time.
