Totally sweet.

I see it has a Subaru LSD. Apparently the stock Subaru rear differential is the same one they used on the old 510s, which is pretty cool after all these years.

While driving around at lunch time today, I saw another good Japanese car from the 70s - a first generation Dodge Colt, made by Mitsubishi. The first generation Colts had rear-wheel drive, unlike the econobox Colts of later years. The Colt I saw today had antique tags and looked to be in pristine condition. I will definitely keep my eye out for it so I can meet the owner. You don't see many Colt aficionados.

I had a 71 Colt, which my muscle car friends used to ridicule. I got my revenge in 1979 when 4 of us piled into my friend's Camaro to go to a Redskins game. The weight of 4 adults was too much for the suspension - the tires were rubbing on the fender wells. We got out of the Camaro and into the Colt, which took us down the road in complete comfort. I beat the crap out of that Colt. It was no 510, but it was a great car - until I rolled it.

In my opinion it is to bad that that 510 has been rodded. The original is such a sweet little BMW fighter that it deserved to be kept stock. I guess I am just a purest when it comes to these cars. I remember them cutting uo the rally circuit back in the day. They surprised te crap out of Volvo, BMW, Renault, etc

$4200 for a car with all that work done to it is a steal though...

I remember those back in HS (circa 77); they were the first of the Japanese tuner cars.

What a cool little car! I've always liked the vintage racer look. That thing is probably a blast to drive!

A few years newer 510 wagon was the first of only two cars my father ever bought brand new. We kids really thought we were styling with cloth seats and the Ziebart sunroof!

Speaking of tuner cars ahead of their time, I wouldn't mind beating the heck out of one of these:

80's Dodge blasphemy such that it is.

...that haven't been beaten into the ground!

I can only begin to imagine what the owners subjected those things to!
