Breaking Down on 95 North- A Positive Experience

It all started with a run to the liquor store, a panicked phone call to JohnHef, AAA and a nice service advisor at Mercedes Benz in Midlothian, VA. Someone borrowed my car (without asking) to make an adult beverage run to the liquor store and the SL500 died. The borrower called JohnHef and he diagnosed the problem (bad crank sensor)BUT then had to walk 5 miles back to explain to me why he was there and my car wasn't.....Pushing the envelope we decided to try and drive back to Arlington, VA from North Carolina and if the car died we'd let it cool off and continue on. Died on 95 North and we pushed it off the road where a really nice Virginia State Policeman stayed with us until AAA got there and towed us to the Dealership where the service advisor Ryan had the service tech stay late to repair the car and he even made hotel reservations for us to stay the night. I can't believe how nice everyone involved was from the State Police Officer to the AAA tow trucker driver named Mike who taught us the right way to strap down a Mercedes because of the suspension to Ryan the service advisor. Breaking down can be a positive experience.

Ouch, sorry to hear of your problems, yet glad things worked out.
That's (Midlothian) just up the street from me.

Glad you got a good response from MB of Richmond. My experience with that dealership hasn't been very good.
