May "Now wbviously we needed somewhere to stage this"
Clarkson "Yes, I suggested we did it in the skies over southern England."
May "In fact we settled on Belgium which was a country invented so that Britain and Germany would have somewhere to sort out their differences"

First time I saw that I couldn't stop laughing after they said "We were simply arriving in style"

Best television show I have ever seen. It sucks we don't get it here in the states, at least not with basic cable . And they want to curb illegal downloading...

Actually as far as I've read the producers of Top Gear don't seem to care about that last part...if anything they like it because it increases the number of viewers. The shows executives are known to read threads on Finalgear.com (Who provide downloads)

The BBC isn't funded through normal advertisements like here and if you watch a full unedited episode of Top Gear you'll find that they don't have pauses for commercial breaks. In Portugal its the same way, most shows are played from beginning to finish with commercials being played between two shows. As opposed to the commericials that are played every ten minutes here.

"They" being TV execs in general, not necessarily the BBC (sorry for not being clear). They have actually embraced it in a logical way as opposed to the lunacy displayed here for the past 10 years or so. I would much prefer the full-episode way of advertising, but I have noticed when they air on BBC America they have the typical American form. I also notice that they cut out the "news" portion of the show to do that, which is one of my favorites. Honestly I don't care about the British celebrities, I don't even know half of them - although the budget car laps are pretty good! Anyone know when Season 13 is coming?

The BBC have to format their shows to fit the customs of different regions. Top Gear is an hour show from beginning to finish. If they were to play it unedited here it would be an hour and a half long to make time for said commercials. Also you will find that the music in Top Gear changes from region to region. (Trust me, you want the original UK aired versions)

haha season 13 has been out for a few weeks now. I'm about to introduce you to your hard drives worst nightmare...the torrent

My arm's come off!!!

Peed my pants laughing as I watched the driver furiously steering with his good arm while the prosthetic arm (still gripping the wheel) flopped around!!!

Priceless!!!
