Anyone watch this show on SpikeTV? It really is very interesting.

Saw a couple of episodes...Viking vs. Samurai, and Zulu versus Scotsman.

I believe the brute force of the weapons used by the Norseman and the Scot inflicted more injury, and their fighting styles overcame the finesse that the Zulu and Samurai would have at their disposal.

Pretty neat portrayals of the simulated fights at the end of each episode.

I like the "smack talk" doled out by each "warrior" during the show as the period weaponry is measured and demonstrated on the test dummies...

I like the fact they actually get real experts on the weapons to come. And yes the smack talk is great. I agree with the scotsman. The Viking vs. Samurai I am still on the fence about. I still have to give the Samurai the better training and still very good weapons. But the Viking did have more one hit kills........

Did you see the Spartan vs. Ninja. That was a great show! And ninja fans everywhere are still complaining. For those who have not seen it its worth a watch.

I only saw part of the Apache vs Roman Gladiator. They had a world champion knife fighter who was apache and Lidell for one of the Gladiators. Both ahd their points. I didn't see the conclusion. I think it was more placed as a caged fight, so I think the gladitor was more in their element. I thought they passed over the best weapon the gladitor has, and that is his shield. If you notice, Romans, Zulus and Spartans all used shields. They are very effective in many situations. That is until firearms enter the equation. Then they along with 'ancient' armour become to heavy. A shield can also be used as a weapon to an extent.

I've seen a few episodes. I thought the Spartan VS Ninja was very good. The shield was a major obstacle for the ninja to get past and could even get used as a weapon all on its own.

Another episode of interest was the Spetsnaz VS Green Berets. I have to say the two Spetnaz guys that they had on the show were scary serious in their work. I thought at any moment he was going to take a step and beat the crap out of the Green Beret that was on the show

Pretty silly show but interesting nonetheless. Of course if you pit a sneaky kind of warrior such as a ninja or an Apache against an in your face, one on one kind of warrior like a Spartan or Roman gladiator, the latter will win. That's their element and what they're "made" for. They are two types of killers made for adifferent type of killing. Kind of like saying a shotgun is better than a bolt action rifle.

The mafia vs the yakuza was great.

I have seen all the episodes, very good mindless entertainment.

I didn't like the Green Beret vs Spetnaz episode, our guys should have won. They had to pick the one Green Beret who couldn't shoot a pistol to do the pistol course.

Haha he was a bit "gung ho" while the Russians where dead serious about their tactics... This guy can kick your ass just by looking at you (not a bad song either)

Oh I like the Russians, they are not affraid to do what has to be done either, bad press be damned.

But I'm American, I still wanted our guys to win. You have to cheer for the home team.

On a side note I wonder if Balalaika listens to that kind of music?

I'm at the part now where she is showing the Yakuza how to fight a war...
