MLB Perfection
Congrats to Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle. 9 innings of no hits, no walks, no runs, no errors against Tampa today. It's only the 18th perfect game in MLB history. The last one belonged to Randy Johnson (Arizona) against Atlanta on May 18, 2004.

Cool. Always thought of Buehrle as a perfect game candidate, since he was a rookie. Also (and only newspaper people can understand this) it's nice that it happened during the day, when we can get good coverage of it ... not in a 10 p.m. game when I have to tear apart the pages to get five inches of a wire blip before last deadline.

Congratulations Mark.
It's rarity makes Don Larsen's perfecto in a World Series game that much more amazing. That'll be a tough one to match. |
