Another Computer Question

Running Vista with a 64 bit os. Just removed Firefox thought that was the problem. Not so.IE is the default browser now. Problem: When i open any program on my desktop it opens o.k When i close it i get a pop up message that tells me that IE has stopped working. The only way to close the page is to minimize it and it runs in the bottom info bar. It tells me to go to the DEP menu.I have no idea what to do.

I have no idea what half of the "helpful" pop up warnings mean that MS puts into Windows.

odds are, Firefox corrupted the thing. These programs go in and change all kinds of things to run their way and then you can't get them changed back. All else fails, remove and reinstall IE and see if it solves problem. I give the users heck for installing FF around here. They install it, but never do any security updates.
