Spinal decompression.....anyone try it?
I recently had my sciatica flare up in the worst way and was wondering if anyone has done that spinal decompression thing? It looks like a form of traction to me.
I am not a big fan of chiropratic manipulation since the last guy I went to years ago, left me in worse pain than when I went in to see him. Anyone in the same boat as me? Gracias!

Is spinal decompression hanging from a chin up bar and relaxing your whole body and back so everything stretches?

After I was in a car accident my physical therapist had me do some specific stretches to get my back into shape again. I still have permanent pain but it was better while I was doing them. I don't know if this is the decompression you're talking about...basically stretched all my lower back muscles. Also the abdominal portion of it actually got me into shape!

Only do it with professional supervision. You could injure yourself permanently (read: paralysis) if not done right.
Don't go to a chiropractic, go to a physical therapist. Sciatica is a condition where the sciatic nerve gets impinged by the muscles in the buttocks which can cause numbness and/or pain in the lower extremities. One of the causes of sciatica is also herniated spinal disc, which can be realized why you're asking what you are asking now. But there can be other reasons why you are having sciatica. It is best to have it diagnosed properly to address the problem rather than try other modalities and seeing if it works or not.
