Battlestar Galactica curiosity
I have been watching the last season of Battlestar Galactica on DVD and I cannot wait to ask this question, which has been bothering me since the first episode.
Why they do not like 90 degree corners ? all corners of books, papers, pictures, doors, etc. have more than 90 degrees.

The producer say it was an inside joke about tight budgets always forcing them to cut corners.

the prop designers are very obtuse people
I have a friend that is very big into BSG(like he has actual screen used props, uniforms, and I think a cylon).. so ill ask him |

I guess there is nothing wrong in liking women on the wild side where you never know when they will turn on you.

I saw in an interview once that said they cut the corners as sort of a stylistic approach to minimalism...saving paper when they could and so on.

Yea I guess they just wanted a different look. I paid close attention and the display screens such as computer had square corners. I guess it was not easy to cut the display screens corners and still have them working.
Spolier alert. Now that they left all the technology and weapons in the hands of the Cylons. Any plans to make more shows where the Cylons are back making more trouble.

I could never get into that show. The gratuitous bouncy camera drove me nuts. All this technology available in the form of a steadycam to make the camera unobtrusive, and these guys want it to look like a 60's drunken super-8 home movie.

I miss Battlestar Galactica worse than any show that has ended it's run. It finally dethroned my painful loss of Six Feet Under.......
![]() ![]() Star Trek, Next Generation was another loss I took really hard!

I have seen Caprica, it is a good show.
Spoiler alert. It tells you how a Cylon was made. Why they seem to have a religion. It all takes place on Caprica no BSG.

Same guy shot Battlestar and Caprica...
The camera movement was dictated by the Director and Producer not the Camerman, who I worked with many years ago. When I last spoke with him, he said he always hated the camera movement dictated by the Producer and director.
but I loved the way he photographed the show... Now if you want totally unneccisary camera movement, try JJ Abrams decisions in Star Trek... |
