I'd like to see you continue to support a position where an armed individual is permitted to drink............if so, I'd suggest to all that we're done here. See the Barney Frank video.

Sheesh...guess I have the only responsible friends around here.

Nobody I know who decides to carry, thinks consuming large quantities of alcohol would be wise while doing so. What you are describing, sounds more like a problem with the guest list.

Do you agree that a person who is carrying a weapon is permitted to drink alcohol?

It's a yes or no answer and I'm not at all interested in your rhetoric. It's your wedding and your guest list.

I have sat with police officers who just got off work and were drinking with us so if it is my wedding and my guest list, I'd go for it. I wouldn't do it myself but if you want, go for it.

Yes and no. They were in uniform. They were at my place. Wasn't much time for them to get off work, bring beer (I was underaged) and change out of their uniform.

I just had this vision of uniformed police officers sitting at a bar throwing back cold ones.

That would go quite far on all the major networks around here.

Their careers on the other hand, wouldn’t make it beyond the front doors of the station house the next morning.

As for your hanging out with cops who hang out drinking with minors...
I wont touch that one. I’ve been to WI enough to say that doesn’t surprise me at all.

I'm not at all interested in answering a yes or no question, with zero supporting justification provided.

if you find such incomplete and/or misleading responses useful, bully for you - but feel free to solicit them elsewhere.

As I figured............will not answer a simple question because you're backed into a corner.

See the Barney Frank interview...........

Please...don't be so disingenious. Asking for a "yes or no" answer, only accomplishes one thing - allowing the questioner, to frame the response in a misleading manner of their choosing.

If you want to set such traps - find someone else to take the bait. If you want an answer to a question from me - don't make such transparent attempts at controlling my responses.

Clearly, you're unable to understand and respond to a simple question. There was no attempt at controlling your response.

Either you are OK with guests drinking alcohol at an event sponsored by you...........say a wedding..........and also carrying weapons............or you're not OK.

No trap...........no bait..........nothing more than a very simple question.

The fact that you refuse to answer the question and spew ill-conceived rhetoric in response tells the forum all that they need to know about you.

Also, you should look up the definition of disingenuous as you clearly don't understand the word.

No, my friends who carry put their guns away in a safe location before any amount of alcohol is consumed. (Lets say more than a beer with dinner) Alcohol slows down your motor functions and increases the chances of you making a mistake.

As for the main topic, these guys need to stop doing this. All it takes is one moron to shoot someone and we have a bunch of restrictive legislation coming down on our heads. I want to buy a FN Fal, Sig pistol, and HKMR762 next year so I don't want to see that. They are as bad as the idiots that are buying up all the ammo at these crazy prices driving them up even higher. Morons screw up and all responsible gun owners have to suffer.

Correct answer.

The real problem is not with the slowdown of motor functions...........this only affects the individual if he must use the firearm...........highly unlikely at a social function.

The issue with the alcohol is that it impairs judgment. Somewhere along the way, the decision must be made to use the firearm...........and if sufficient alcohol is consumed, that decision is likely to be the wrong one.
