ditto. the coverage map for tmobil (and sprint/nextel) looks great but the reality is different. they usually let you try it out for 15 days to see if the coverage is sufficient

You're on top of this stuff. The lady at the T mobile store forwarded me the Sony Ericcson link for the software after I called them. I'm downloading it now. I was sorta jumping to freaked out mode a bit too quickly yesterday.

I'll check out the other link for further tips. T mobile tech support says this phone doesn't have the wait or comma feature. Unbelievable. It's got a bunch of crap that no phone of mine really needs but not that. Also, calendar reminders and text messages received don't have a loud beep every few minutes to alert you that you missed the original alert. A really handy feature, IMO. The Moto had that -- that phone was a bit clunky at time but it did have some good features. This is a good phone though. Maybe I can find some downloadable app for what I want but I'm not highly optimistic on that.

Well, I'll be damned. It works. Says my speed is 460.8 kbps, not scintillatingly fast but it doesn't feel slow. This page loaded right up.

Now remember Tmobiles definition of "unlimited data" is around 4gb before they send you a nastygram so refrain from downloading the best of Jenna.

Uhh . . could be some misinformation promo thrown at me but they told me there was no limit on my usage, unlike with AT&T or Verizon. At any rate, I don't do a lot of major downloading of media and hot babes on the web.

Mostly just self-absorbed, pseudo brainiac stuff.

They told you? Double check the fine print. It either states unlimited email and web browsing or a pre-set data limit. It's unlikey you will come close the the 4-6 gig limit just sitting in your bean bag spankin the monkey.


and things may have changed just make sure your data plan supports tethering.

So, is the connection better or worse with the foil hat on??

This is wild. I thought using the phone as a modem would quickly drain the battery. It does not. I've been using it a lot today and my battery is still nearly full, if I can believe the icon and it's been pretty accurate so far.

I just popped into youtube and videos load in a hurry. Maybe 5 seconds and I got Renee Zellweger looking sexy on screen.

Now if I can get the software updates for the phone I'm hoping for, I'm going to come out like roses. Even if I can't, still not a bad deal.
