I was more sad to find out Eunice Shriver died.
As for Ted I say good reddence! He should have been kicked out and/or sent to jail a long time ago. This is pretty much my sentiments on all politicians. Their all a bunch of lying dirtbags.

That should be an interesting conversation, if and when THEY finally meet again!

Ted Kennedy was a true public servant in that he did not let his own strongly-held liberal principles get in the way of getting the country's business done. He was an exceedingly effective senator.
I'm glad he lived long enough to see the day when people would once again be proud to be called "liberal." |

Teddy Kennedy was a very flawed individual. One good thing that comes from his passing is that there is one less of the old liberal guard as the face of the Democratic Party. The days when he and Jesse Jackson were the point people on the left where not good days, the philandering DWI-killer drunkard and the adulterous extorsionist minister made being a Democrat embarassing in the '80s. I wish he had retired long ago. I am glad both of these men are now off the national stage, Jackson disgraced by his "cutting the balls of that n****r" remark about Obama, and now Kennedy from old age, it's time for change. And his passing, while mourned for the good he did, is not regretted by me.

I don't think Ted is going to the same place as MaryJo. She is upstairs and he is definitely downstairs.

Yeah, that's an opinion I value...one corrupt politican's opinion of another.

Problem is, Ted's transgressions have no problem standing on their own. Comparing him to somebody you view as worse, is like defending a rapist, by pointing out he's not a murderer. |

Unlike Ted, he has lived his public life with integrity and honesty. Why people - on both sides - accept so much less from their elected representatives, is something I'll never understand. |

Howard Dean is another good example. John Kerry also has more morals in his little finger. Kennedy is gone, I will not say "good riddance", but his time passed long ago, and he should have never had the prominence he was given, the real accomplishment was that he was a testament to the enduring power of the political machine created by Daddy Joe. Without it, he would have been just another guy in the corner of the bar passed out in his bowl of peanuts. Bobby K was always the real giant of the family, the rest were a bunch of morally compromised near-degenerates, and I use the term "near-" only out of respect for the dead.
