I started to watch it, and it is an inspiring movie. I suggest car guys should watch it.

The movie is Love The Beast - Eric Bana.

Wow, I had no idea that movie even existed!

I drove one of those cars at the Ford 100th anniversary in 2003:

I don't have any sound on my computer so this may be pretty obvious if you do have sound.

That must be an Aussie movie. The car almost looks like a mustang but it says falcon. In some angles it looks like a Nova too.

Liked it, thanks for posting. Never ceases to amaze me how much an impression working and driving on ones cars makes on a person, especially when growing up.

pretty much justified keeping my first, wrecked, car at the end of my driveway a little bit longer now. There were at least a dozen things broken on it at any given time when it was drivable and there was always a way to either 'fix' or jiggle it a certain way to get it working.
So i could relate to the statement that even though automobiles are machines, some flaws, such falling apart due to neglect and age, open a door for a bond to form giving a machine an attribute only truly known by the owner--character.

or you could call it making the best of what you have; a car that's been neglected and is now being appreciated. Either way, it's hard to prevent a content owner from seeing it any other way.

---------It's out on DVD, not to mention hidden in a series of tubes

You said it. Most of my friends just don't get why I have a bond with my 300D, or even the ridiculous 240D I've only had for seven months. My 300D has been a part of my life since I was 5, and it's been far from a perfect ride (for me or the car) ... but it's still there. The imperfections, and the work I've put in to fix them or deal with them, have only made it more special.
This looks like a great movie ... even the trailer made me cry, ha. It's been about a year since I've bought a DVD ... maybe I'll spring for this one.

It's an XB Falcon, the second in the series that started with the XA which was the first Aussie designed Falcon after Ford US pulled the plug on the car here in the states.

It's kind of a melding of a Torino and a Mustang and under the hood, it's identical to an early 70's Torino. 351C power for the GT's, 4 speed tranny and 4 wheel disks.

OK, so I tried to find this DVD online, and at Blockbuster, but can't find it. Where did you guys get it? I can only find it on eBay and it's an Aussie-region DVD which I don't think will play in a U.S. DVD player, right?

Legend has it that if you buy the cheapest, crappiest DVD player from the grocery store, it will play any region DVD. I've never tried this theory out for myself though...

Also, if you have a DVD player in your computer, you can switch the region up to about 5 times through the software.

I did some more digging around and found this:

OK, I found a friend that owns this movie on DVD and he going to let me borrow it when he gets home from vacation.

We'll see how it goes...
