Thanks! I am so fired up about the canal I came home and started writing. I have six essays of a page or two describing all aspects of it. I don't have any idea what to do with them though.

I was reading about the new locks they are beginning to build and based on what I read I don't see how they can supply enough water to operate them and the existing locks. When we were there there was no excess water running over the dam. The operation of the locks is using all of it apparently.

I was thinking of creating a web site called Walgypedia or something to put them up for folks.

It has not been as bad as I thought it would be.

Since I've been back today is the first day it rose to double digits outside, i think.

Brrrrrrrrrrrr!

Tomorrow evening it is supposed to snow. I'm ready though with my trusty montero plow truck!

Tom, Glad you had a good time and saw something that most of us won't see in our lifetime.

Have you been to the SOO Locks, in Northern Michigan? They are something to see, but not on the scale of the Panama Canal.

I think so but I have been thinking that i should look them up and see how big they are. I have definately seen the locks over by Montreal.
