This morning I e-mailed the people at http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/#/eventsCommunity/
and asked about the badge and they just e-mailed me back saying they have the form I sent and I should get it in the next few weeks.

It's like saving ceral boxtops and sending away for "Flippy, the Diver" . . . it seems like forever for the postman to deliver.

Well, sent sent the application on July 30 and received the certificate and badge on December 3. Just over 4 months.

I've never bothered to get one, maybe I should just go for 1M miles.

I am a bit ebullient, finally Having just received my Mercedes Benz badge today, the 250,000 kms one, after waiting over 4 months, as I applied for it 7/26/09 and since then, did over 10,000 more miles of driving!!

(Note: For those still waiting, for theirs, the accompanying letter was signed by Mercedes Benz on August 26, 2009, yet was delivered by 2 day delivery by Fed Ex from New Jersey on December 1, 2009!!! "we report, you decide!!! )

Where should it mount, right side or left, and if on the right side, it has to go below the strip because above is too small, given in this case it is for a coupe with "TheDon"s Mercedesshop steel badge on it already?

I don't want to infest the grille with a million badges, but these two are nice and I am willing to display them, and no more...

And while it looks nice today, fresh out of the box, what precautions before mounting, would you recommend to protect its finish in years to come, and from stone chips and road hazards to put on it?

Guy in the body shop this afternoon, said nothing, as to clear coat it would make a mess if the clear coat came off.

Pressing the issue, he admitted that my of smearing vaseline onto it before long trips made sense.....

Turned mine in last month...would be four weeks and counting by now...

Jim, my badge is thrashed... all the pain is faded, and the pain around the km number is gone! I repainted my euro delivery badge 3 years ago when I got my milage badge and it still looks 100% who would have thought that Testors model paint would stand up better then whatever mercedes is using to make these badges. Irony is right!

I'm thinking of getting the pick out and cleaning up whats left of the the paint on my milage badge and giving it the Testors treatment.

Talked to the parts guy at the dealer, really a cool guy he knows me now, lol. anway. he told me they have never heard of any problems with the milage badges. and there was no procedure to get me another one.

Just got mine yesterday via Fedex and picked it up this morning. All is well EXCEPT for the VIN. Seems like somebody has got my certificate and I got somebody's. MB says they are looking to fix that "oopsie"

Also when I got my badge someone didn't align the ink cartridges and my model and vin were printed up in the art work at the top of the page.

I love my Benz, a quality product of WEST Germany... not sure what they have going on over there thesed days. All I know is sadly my milage badge experence has not made Mercedes look good.

It took about one month to get my 250,000 km for a 240D; the mileage was so close to 500,000 km when I applied, they automatically sent the 500,000km badge a couple of months later.

Now that is what I call SERVICE!

(this was like 3 years ago; ancient history)

I think the paint wore off part of mine after a couple of months of driving. Excellent quality.

Must be the season! My dad sent me a message saying that this package from Mercedes Benz came!

He wasn't too happy since they wanted him to go to the Fedex warehouse to sign for it.
