Cool I want this, in a bad way..."Maschinengewehr 42"

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=143421651

Lets see,m 1,500 rounds per minute...at $.50 a round= expensive!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFpXKVqQfKY&NR=1

What a crazy expensive, yet insanly cool toy! All I need is a 21st Panzer uniform to go with it.

Yes, the MG42. The U.S. M60* was very heavily based on it. Most other NATO issue medium machine guns can trace their lineage to this bad boy.

*I've never shot an MG42, but I was an M60 gunner back in the day and more recently qualified as an M240 gunner. I've put a few thousand rounds down range with machine guns and it is quite enjoyable. As one of my instructors said, "Accuracy by volume."

Just walk the rounds in!

Its a good design, the Germans still use it in the MG3. Throws lead down range like its going out of style.

If you have the money and a class 3 license, knock yourself out and let me know when you exercise it!

Yeah. I'd love one of those as well. I see them at gunshows here in Phoenix often. Just way to much out of my price range for me.

.50 BMG is really pricey...like scary pricey...$5 a shot....so shooting an M2 would be a very expensive hobby!

I spent the weekend with M240s and a couple BARs at Camp Perry.

Next April, it's the AK-fest. I'm bringing the Yugo version and the Chinese tanker version. One guy hopefully will bring a DShK 14.5 mm but we have to chip in to fire that one.
