My heart goes out to those injured, and the families of those that were killed (minus 1, sorry I know they have a loss, but I don't feel for them).

But one interesting thing, you have the largest military base in the US and they had to bring Police SWAT teams in ???

Shouldn't the MPs, and / or the troops themselves been able manage this ???

I don't have to respect too many people anymore.

1. troops dont keep weapons at ready when in garrison

2. MPs are not always trained for such situations

3. Ft Hood & Killen has a mutual support agreement. Killen PD has a SWAT team and reacted most likely quicker than you could believe. The last thing needed was a group of troops handling this situation. No shame. just not what they are trained for. If the security breech was a small unit tactic, ie an Islamic terror group, a reaction force of MPs supported by infantry would have handled this....SWAT is not trained for that.

Dead shooter was a psychiatrist even.

Everything I'm seeing now sounds like this guy was upset about his own deployment and lost it. I'm sure the internets will continue to make up their own facts until more actual info is available.
