Anybody here ever used PODS?

I called PODS to drop off a container in NC to have some stuff loaded into and stored until it can be delivered in Washington. I've never hired them before, but boy were they ever responsive. Plus, I see their freight containers all over northern VA.

Anybody else ever used them?

I see them around the city quite a bit. And, I've seen one that was torn open and its contents strewn about, but I think that's pretty unusual. I'd just be mindful of the neighborhood it was in.

What amazed me was when they lowered the POD from the space craft into my driveway right into position. The technology they have today!

Damn!

I did ask them where they would be storing my furniture prior to delivering it. They told me it would be on whichever planet was closest to the final delivery point . . .

"Hello? Alpha Centauri PODS office, how may we help you?"

I have used them a few times. The only beef I have with them is that they are not really good at interstate shipping. You cannot do any interstate booking on the web it cost me almost $2k to bring two PODs up from Va to NY! For local moving they are awesome. I like the idea that you get the 'module' dropped off and then you can load/unload it at your own pace. I had two of them loaded and stored for a year. Your padlock, their warehouse...

I booked mine online and it is interstate. I hope they do alright. I'll post something once I'm done with them. It is convenient, that's for sure.
