In Through the Out Door

Authorities were searching for a man who walked through a screening checkpoint exit into the secure side of a terminal Sunday night at a U.S. airport, and flights were grounded and passengers being re-screened, an air safety official said.

I'm a little surprised it's that easy to put an airport into lockdown. There has to be a better way.

I've been in airports when that happened, it's a PITA because everyone has to go through security again.

On our holiday Panama trip we were traveling the day after the attempted bombing (the famous genital burner bomber). With my artificial titanium hip I got everything but a strip search each time.

I didn't mind.....unfortunately always by men though.

Poitically correct bs

Enough is enough of this nonsense. Simply strip search EVERY arab male from 15-60 every time they come to a US airport, make them fly naked or in a back-tied hospital gown, and let all the passengers through, especially Danish 85 y o grandmothers.

The over reacting and politically correct posturing and
CYA by the useless TSA (which should be abolished) has made air travel utterly intolerable. the terrorists have won this one.

I am never going to fly anywhere again. Unless I go to Europe or Australia and have to take a plane.

At midnight I just got back from a fast day in Los Angeles, I was on the road and did 1,025 miles, a long drive back and forth, to Malibu beach, where it was 85* to visit friends with old Mercedes' and had a great time. All of it done in under 25 hours, a great time had.

Easy to go great distances in a big, well maintained Mercedes. They are built for that, once consiered "Ground bound Lear Jets" in Germany when new, able to traverse long distances in high speed and in comfort.

And it is good for them, anyone familiar with taking care of military jets will tell you the best ones are those that fly all time, the ones that just sit there for months will degrade over time.

The time wasting, and money wasting and self serving TSA is a bad joke, I am done with all that bs and over reacting.

I think the airlines are doomed in this country, there must be a tippping point with aggravation and I think we are probably about there.

...which is exactly the type of flight that the TSA has enforced stricter rules.

Why can't they just review their security procedures and improve on them, instead of the "reactive" kind of BS travelers get put through??!!!

I was already fed up with air travel after 9-11 with the laptop and shoe bins, lotions in plastic bags, and certainly after carriers skimped on frills and charged for baggage...

But he was Nigerian. Last I checked he was pretty black.

Looks like any other guy when I drive through the east side of Erie. However his name was rather suspicious, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

If only he changed his name then he would have been entirely undetectable.

If someone really wanted to cause terror all he would need to do is walk into an airport pre-security and go boom. Especially during a holiday with the slow TSA lines. No need to blow up a plane when you can cause carnage before TSA does their jobs.
