Car maintenance tracking program help

I recall reading that some folks have set up a spread sheet of sorts to track auto repairs. I have MS money to track finances but it does not allow as much info as I would like such as detailed descriptions, mileage ...

I thought I remembered someone saying that the MBUSA site allowed you to do this but when I registered and entered the vehicle I did not see anything. Also they do not accept gray market vin's. I sent an email asking them to add it so we will see.

Does anyone who uses Excel have a spear sheet layout they would be willing to email me? I think I want something that allows for description, mileage and then an amount which it keeps a running total on like MS money were you have the one time amount and then to the right of that it has a running total.

I have a huge manila folder with paper since 1987 that I would like to organize.

If not excel, any other ideas would be welcome as well.

Thanks

It would be a lot easier to carefully place all records into a bucket and pour lighter fluid on them and.......

Just tryin to help.

Already thought of that idea. As appealing as it is, there is the counter argument in my mind that I am kind of proud of the records and would like them to be useful.

It does not sound that hard but I do not have a great deal of creativity. I hoped someone else had made one who has more experience with Xcell and would be willing to share.

Funny thing. Your post go me to visit the MBUSA site and check to see the service records I posted over the years. I couldn't find them either. My car is listed and even after updating for mileage, nothing from the past appeared. I guess they discontinued the process, (or maybe abandoned it for older cars.) I noticed the on-line service manuals only go back to 2004.

It was a good place to track service records. But new cars nowadays are maintenance free. Don't you know that! What's a service record?

In 30 years of driving benzes I believe I have had mine at the dealer for repairs. Neither time did they actually fix the problem.

Not much to track there.
