Monica Crowley's turgid anxiety

Oh man, the lady is a real trip. The Daily Show had a clip of her describing her take on Obama's unconscionable pausing of 3 days to gather accurate info on the much bally-hooed attempted terrorist bombing before addressing the nation. Stewart noted, as have others, that Bush was also on vacation when the Richard Reid attempted shoe bombing took place and didn't speak on the matter for 6 days.

Crowley's remarks: . . . his incredibly flaccid reaction to these kinds of attacks . . .

(about a minute in)

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Ms. Crowley might very likely qualify as an expert on the subject of "flaccid reactions."

I wish I could see her entire remarks. She was on O'Reilly's show, you can see the logo in the clip. Maybe I can find it after a good night's sleep.

"turgid anxiety"?

The Daily Show is funny. What a gig these guys have; they just have to sit around and wait for fox news to write their material. Hardly seems fair (or balanced).

Today's Fox web home page features the headline "Does Obama really want to win the war on terror?"

The poisoning of debate in America continues.

I thought we got rid of the silly "war on terror" label. Is anyone credible still using it?

Call it what it is: the Global War on Islamic Extremism and Violence.
TA DA. Everyone knows what it is. Then groups like CAIR won't whine so much.

I don't know what you would like to call your struggle, but the U.S. government is engaged in a law enforcement activity.

Wow. That's a tough one. War on Islamic Extremists?

Of course, if they called it that, they would have to explain why they committed mass murder in Iraq against a secular regime. "Terror" works the way "jewish conspiracry" worked for Hitler. Keep it vague, then you can kill who you want.

Olbermann is having a mini-field day with all the Rr pols and pundits going on about Obama not using the word "terror" (horrors!) and then playing multiple recent clips of O using the word over and over.

One can only imagine that these guys figure the audience they are focusing on will not check the record but will swallow their spin whole.

Strange days.

The "terror" word may be accurate if you find an actual terrorist, it's the word "war" is a bit silly in this case.

This Nigerian lost soul dreamer has been elevated to cult hero status (I can only imagine) among his comrades, what with all the press he's getting, complete with photos of him looking all dreamy.

We glorify these punks by calling it war.

I've been watching the Crowley woman for some time. She appears on the McLaughlin report which I sometimes watch. The reaction she inspires in me is definitely flaccid. What a weird and strident persona. No wonder she's risen to the upper ranks of the Rr pundit pool.

Well I have never heard of her before even though I see the McLaughlin report from time to time.

She looks pretty damn hot to me.
