I think it's about finding an excuse to be selfish and let others rot. Race is as good an excuse as any for bigots.

Just saying...I feel like Rush has been coming up on about 75% of the threads in OD the past 2 weeks (when I have had the time to post on here in between semesters), this topic with Robertson has been brought up in at least two others.

Interesting observation. It points out the duplicity of the right to espouse selfishness in the name of a political and religious agendas. And yet, it has appeal

I don't read that many threads here. The evidence suggests that many are not happy with the statements of these people.

I gather a Popeye's franchise in Port Au Prince would not be remunerative?

I'm just wondering what Wyclef Jean's Charity "Yele Haiti Foundation" is going to to for Haiti.
There will be rip offs of charitable minded folks. This could be one of them.

Thanks for the links. unfortunately as easily as you would dismiss a Fox news report as a lie if it suits your purpose, I don't place a lot of faith in any news reports from Cuba.

Too bad the facts disagree with you. Rush gives far more to charity than his liberal counterparts. And as already mentioned here, the generosity of both time and money from Robertson's ministries, is a widely known fact.

More to the point, it's not just these two - study after study, repeatedly shows conservatives give far more to charity than liberals. When it actually comes to giving, liberals have big mouths, and tight wallets.

That's not to say liberals don't wish to help out those in need - on the contrary. They just prefer to do so with other people's money.

So because Robertson's charities do good, he gets a pass on his comments.. Passing judgment and blame is ok so long as you throw some cash at it.. Ahhh yet another case of religion uniting us all with peace and love..

Riush & Pat deserve everything they preach.. Chalk them up to god's Plan..
