I agree with you about Perot being at the mercy of politics if he were the Sec. of Commerce. My thoughts here was that at least he was someone who might be listened to on the subject. But in the end the politics of the situation would have won out no matter how right he might have been. |

It seems that Eisenhower's people had the highest level of private business experience.
Anyone here besides me remember the Recession that hit the US in 1957 and 1958? It was brutal. You would think that with all that private business experience on his side Eisenhower could have prevented this. |
